A ductless mini split is a heating and cooling system that, instead of ductwork, uses an indoor and outdoor unit linked by tubing and wiring. Mini splits work by circulating refrigerant through a line connecting your outdoor unit to one or more indoor units, allowing zoned climate control.
To cool your home, the outdoor unit circulates refrigerant to the indoor units, which absorb heat from the targeted rooms and transfer it back to the outdoor unit for release. On the other hand, to heat your home, the system draws heat from the outside air and pulls it into your home, warming up your indoor space.
